ANGEL STREET CELEBRATES THE SPOOKY SEASON AT HCT Classic Thriller to "Gaslight" Hastings Community Theatre Audiences
Hastings NE -- Hastings Community Theatre audiences will be mesmerized for the Halloween season by Patrick Hamilton's classic thriller, Angel Street.  The story is better known by the title Gaslight, the 1944 movie version of the play directed by George Cukor starring Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman.  Angel Street will perform at the theatre's home at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, Nebraska, at 8 pm on November 6, 7, 13 & 14, with matinees on November 8 & 15 at 2:30 pm.
Is Bella Manningham suffering from a case of nerves brought on by her overbearing husband, or are strange things really happening in her house as items go missing and servants behave strangely?  Is she mad, or do the gaslights in the parlor really dip every night after her husband disappears with no explanation of where he's going?  This Victorian mystery, set in fogbound 1880s London, will leave the audience guessing at every turn.  Join in the fear and fun with this classic thriller of murder, mayhem and revenge at Hastings Community Theatre.

Co-directed by Meggan Goebel and Chris Nemetz, Angel Street features Amy Sandeen as Bella Manningham, Bret Boden as Mr. Manningham, with Paige Parsons, Emily Moore and Nemetz also in the cast.  The show is produced by Kevin Schawang with set design by Rick Klamm, lighting design by Eric Rothell and Steve Spilinek, and special effects by Schawang.  Russanne Erickson will stage manage.
Angel Street
is the second production in Hastings Community Theatre's 50th consecutive season presenting live theatre in Hastings.  The show is dedicated to the late Don Mathews and the late Paul Hohnstein.  Matthews was an HCT board member starting in the late 1950's, serving as treasurer for many years and twice as board president.  He directed more shows than any other person in the company's history and was involved in all phases of moving into the theatre's current home.  Also a long-time HCT board member, Hohnstein was responsible for creating the auditorium in the theatre's building and gave his time and talents generously as a consumate friend of HCT.
