Holdrege FFA Grill & Drill Raffle
Holdrege, NE: The Holdrege FFA Alumni recently picked the winners of its Grill & drill Raffle held February 5th during half time of the Holdrege Basketball game. Winner of the John Deer Gas Grill was Byron Bruntz of Holdrege. The grill and barbecue equipment was donated by LandMark Implement of Holdrege. Ray Ruybalid of Funk will receive the second place prize of a set of 18.8 Volt Dewalt Cordless Impact Drills. The drill combination was sponsored by Midwest Ag Insurance; Kent & Tammi Sturgis, and Golden Harvest Seeds; Chadd Jacobson. The third place prize of a $50 Cabela's Gift Certificate was won by Jim Johnson of Holdrege. The Gift certificate was sponsored by CHS Agriservice Center. FFA member Doug Smith was awarded $25 for selling the winning ticket for the grill raffle.
Also held in conjunction with the raffle was the third annual FFA Alumni Barbecue. The Barbecue served over 300 people. Beef for the Barbecue was donated by Bunker Hill Farms and Bob Wells Farms of Holdrege. Other Sponsors included Fairbanks Implement, Firstier Bank, Nebraska Ag specialties, Nebraskaland Aviation, Soneson Seeds and TierOne Bank.
Proceeds from the raffle and Beef Barbecue will go towards the fundraising efforts for a new school greenhouse. Anyone interested in joining the Holdrege FFA Support Group can contact Jeff Moore, Agricultural Education Instructor at Holdrege High School.
