ONE ACT PLAY RESULTS
Kearney High School's one act play "Alice's Adventures with Poorly Cooked Cafeteria Seafood" placed 4th and received a Superior at the A4 District Play Production Contest held at North Platte. Lincoln High, who has won Class A State Play four of the past five years won the contest and will represent the district at the State Play Production Contest held at the Kearney Merryman Performing Arts Center on December 12. Scottsbluff was the runner-up.
The following Kearney High students received Superior Acting Awards: Hattie Hagan, Hannah Hernandez, Warren Gilles, and Drew Syring.
The KHS play was also the Best Overall Play at the Grand Island Northwest Play Festival. Hannah Hernandez was the Best Actress and Warren Gilles was Best Supporting Actor. Hattie Hagan and Jeff Jacobitz were named as Superior Actors.
Warren Gilles and Hannah Hernandez were members of the All-Festival Cast at the Lincoln North Star Play Festival.
The play was directed by Director of Theatre Mel Shoemaker and student teacher Lauren Blessing.
Other cast members were Nicole Andres, Natalie Blakely, Korena Gomez, Lindsay Heun, Tyler Jennings, Amanda Ray, and Sydney Tillotson.
